How far your $ADA can do: Typhoon Odette (Rai) donation drive
ADAPH works together with Rotary Club of Ubay for the Typhoon Odette Relief Effort
Last December 16, 2021, the Philippines particularly in Visayas and Mindanao were severely affected by Typhoon Odette (Rai) - the typhoon intensified from a category 1 to a category 5 overnight, making landfall as a "super-typhoon" that hit Cebu and Bohol where our company SAIB and ADAPH team where situated. The typhoon's aftermath left thousands of families homeless, the infrastractures were damage that resulted the whole province in a complete blackout, with no signal, no water, and shortage in food supplies.

A few days after the super-typhoon's wrath, our CEO, fortunately, got an internet signal. To continue the company's operation, he grab the opportunity to immediately arranged a flight to Manila, the country's capital where the infrastructure is very stable. After arriving in Manila, the first thing he did was to set up a donation drive through this page: https://adaph.io/odette, in hope to gather funds from the Cardano Community, to help not only our fellow ADAPH team, but also the people who were greatly affected by the super-typhoon.
Through the generosity, kindness and support from our Cardano Community, we have raised over $16k ADA for the Typhoon Odette donation drive in less than 3 weeks, helping the entire ADAPH team to move to Manila to continue working and to organize the relief efforts for those affected by the typhoon. Your donations have gone a long way in the aid and relief efforts of the displaced families of Typhoon Odette in Cebu and Bohol. We've had sent 1,000 relief packs, with 500 going to San Fernando and Oslob, Cebu, and 500 to Ubay, Bohol where help is badly needed.

We were using eco-bags instead of plastic, to reduced waste, to help our mother earth.
Our first batch of donation drive were donated to a remote mountain area in San Fernando called Luna. San Fernando was also one of the nearby areas where the super-typhoon made its landfall in Cebu.

Here's a little video recap of our relief efforts in San Fernando, Cebu:
The day after San Fernando, our second batch of relief packs was distributed to families in Bonbon, Oslob in the southern part of Cebu.

The week after the relief efforts in Cebu, we continued our last batch of relief packs distribution for Ubay, Bohol but since there is difficulty with the logistics, we collaborated with the Rotary Club of Ubay, Bohol with the help of Mrs. Lalaine Ong.

First stop was in Camali‑an, a barangay in the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 662. This represented 0.81% of the total population of Ubay.

Governor Boyles is a barangay in the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 904. This represented 1.11% of the total population of Ubay.

Here's a little video recap of our relief efforts in Ubay, Bohol with the collaboration of the Rotary Club of Ubay:
This is just one of the proof that the power of blockchain is fast, organic, and efficient. We are very thankful to the Cardano community especially, to everyone who donated to the cause. Despite the onslaught of the super-typhoon, we stood and bravely conquered the negativities that have happened. It might take time to rebuild, restore and recover, but surely, this will make everyone rise back again stronger.
Again, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
We are also hoping that you'll be able to help us out by delegating to our community stake pool! Simply search for our ticker code ADAPH in the staking center on your ADA wallet or at the pool.pm.
